The GFA hosted a reception at ASRM 2016 on the evening of October 16th at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City, UT. While the previous reception at ESHRE featured presentations by the GFA member companies, the ASRM reception took the format of a question and answer session with Standardization and Education in IVF Processes as the main topic. The Q&A session was moderated by Sebastian Bohl (Merck KGaA, Darmstardt, Germany), with key opinion leaders, William Schoolcraft, MD, HCLD, and Marcos Meseguer, PhD, responding to questions on standardization, technology and education.
Dr. Schoolcraft is the founder and medical director of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine, the oldest fertility clinic in Colorado. CCRM has pioneered significant research breakthroughs in IVF including in vitro culture of human embryos to the blastocyst stage, novel protocols for the treatment of poor responders, and blastocyst comprehensive chromosome screening. Prof. Meseguer is the Senior Embryologist and Scientific Director IVF at IVI Clinic Valencia and the primary areas of his research are embryology and male infertility. As Principal Investigator, his work has been funded through 8 projects sponsored by the Spanish Government and the Valencian Government, including two EUREKA projects (granted to high quality technological projects) supported by the European Community.
